| Highly subtle, yet profound, Bowtech, the Original Bowen Technique is a non-invasive healing modality in which powerful results are achieved as the body finds, again, perhaps after years of pain and frustration, that it can retrieve the cellular memory of relaxation, balance, and wellbeing. It is the leading drug free treatment for neck and back pain The Original Bowen Technique invariably results in the relief of many specific injuries and other health problems, both acute and chronic. Signals are delivered to the nervous system at specific locations (on muscles, tendons, ligaments, or nerves), and there are frequent but very essential pauses to allow the body time to respond and begin the healing process. The technique addresses not only the musculoskeletal framework, but also the fascia, nerves and internal organs.
Can the Bowen technique help me?
Most people eventually discover Bowen after trying other healing methods with limited success, especially regarding pain issues. Although Bowen is widely used for physical pain relief, countless other benefits are known. Bowen regularly addresses degenerative problems, as well as mental, emotional, hormonal and energetic difficulties. Below are only some of the conditions for which Bowen is used. More details of what it helps are available in the relevant page on the left.
Asthma
Scoliosis
Relieves Pain
Frozen Shoulder
Decreases Stress
Treats Fibromyalgia
Hip and Back problems
Muscular & Skeletal Injury
Autonomic Nervous System Imbalances
Chronic Pain due to Injury or Emotional Trauma
Where did the Bowen Technique originate?
Thomas Bowen (1916 - 1982) The initiator of the Bowen Technique
The Bowen Technique was developed in the 1950’s by the late Tom Bowen from Geelong, Australia. Bowen became a celebrated therapist, regularly treating over 13,000 patients a year. In 1974, he invited Oswald Rentsch and his wife Elaine to study with him and document his procedures. Honouring their promise to Bowen, they began to teach the technique in 1986 a few years after he died.
Instruction and training has only been done outside Australia since 1986, with over 20,000 therapists worldwide having undertaken Bowen training. Bowtech is Ossie and Elaine’s testament to Tom Bowen who trusted them to keep the technique pure and unadulterated. And, now, into their 70’s, they are still traveling thousands of miles each year to spread the word about Bowen.
| All Bowen therapists registered at the Bowen Association UK adhere to a strict code of professional ethics, are covered with indemnity insurance, have a current first-aid certificate, have completed training in anatomy and physiology and undertake on-going post-graduate training each year. |

November 6th, 2008 by admin in What does a typical Bowen Session consist of?
When you have Bowen Therapy you follow a tried, tested and proven formula so you can be sure you are getting the very best, effective treatment possible.
First of all let me congratulate you on stepping out of the box and choosing to look at the Bowen protocol.
Once people decide to come they’ll phone me and find out where I stay (just off Glasgow Road in Uddingston) so it’s not usually difficult to find the address.
So let’s begin -
Here’s what’s involved:
Step 1
For the ladies I’ll advise you to change into flat shoes when coming. As you come into the house I’ll watch how you stand and walk and note mentally any restrictions I see. Depending on the problem that’s being addressed I might ask to see the radius of movement of each arm and/or check your pelvic alignment. It’s warm and relaxing in this room and you sit down at the side of the fire and I’ll ask you if you’re on any medication, if you suffer from any allergies, or been involved in any work or sports related accidents which might have something to do with your current problem, and I’ll listen to what’s being said. I’ll then spend a few minutes explaining a bit about Bowen to you and what you might experience on the treatment table. As I leave the room I’ll ask you to take off your outer clothes and lie on the therapy table covering yourself with towels so that only the bit I’m working on is exposed. Then the treatment begins starting with basic relaxation moves at your lower back and, depending on the problem, either I work down on to the legs or work from the upper back up to the neck and shoulders with the moves that are most appropriate. I then ask you to turn on to your back and do the Bowen moves that best balance you. Although it doesn’t look as if a lot happens the gentle pressure sends signals through the proprioceptors (the nerve endings within the muscles) to the brain telling the body to reset itself to its original pain-free blueprint.
Step 2
After I’ve done everything you’ll be so relaxed on the table that I’ll let you rest on your back for ten minutes.
Step 3
I’ll then bring in a glass of water for you and explain what you’ve to do during the week ahead. More often than not I will only need to see you twice unless you re-injure yourself but even then people respond without a lot of treatment which is always a plus.
Some more questions?
How long does it take?
A first session will probably take about an hour and a quarter to an hour and three quarters.
Is it painful?
No. You may feel tingling or heat anywhere in the body or specifically in the area of the problem.
What clothes should I wear?
Flat shoes, loose clothing (like a t-shirt), and light trousers, would be better if you don’t want to take off your outer clothes but, generally, people are happy for me to work on them with outer clothes off as they are covered with towels anyway and only the area I’m working on is clear to allow me to make the moves.
How do I prepare for the treatment?
Drinking two glasses of spring water with an hour’s space between them would be beneficial. Also, if you leave your mobile in the car you won’t be distracted.
What if I’m taking other alternative treatment?
Allow 4 days after any other treatment before you have Bowen to allow the other treatment to take effect and to enable me a clear view of the condition.
Can I drive after treatment?
If you drove to me then there will be no reason you can’t drive afterwards.

What about Sports Bowen?
Athletes over the world are being treated successfully using the Bowen technique both during and after sport. It plays a vital role in rehabilitation, accelerating the recovery time from overuse of muscles and injuries.
As a prevention method regular Bowen Therapy sessions can assist athletes in balancing the body’s systems, increasing oxygen flow and flexibility and stamina. Athletes have found improvements in mental clarity and concentration that assist them keeping a positive attitude and a stronger drive to succeed.
Four days before treatment:
Avoid any massage or other kind of bodywork, chiropractic, acupuncture, physiotherapy, and dental drilling.
On day of treatment before the session:
For the ladies please wear flat shoes and avoid perfume or body lotion. And for the men please don’t use aftershave or body lotion.
Try and drink at least 2 glasses of bottled spring water an hour before coming.
Leave all distractions at home or in car i.e. mobile telephones.
After treatment until 24 hours later:
Refrain from sitting for longer than 30 minutes at one time. Walking around keeps the body from locking in one position and begins the body’s innate ability to heal itself. If you are driving a long distance - stop the car every half hour and walk around it a few times Do not have a bath or a shower before going to bed but just wash yourself down. I’ll explain the reason for this if you want to know.
You may lie down flat and rest/nap without having to get up and walk. Your body will begin to reset itself as you rest flat out or as you walk.
Avoid strenuous exercise – for the first week walking, not sauntering, is very good.
Drinking at least a glass of water every hour until early evening is advisable to assist the body in removing toxins and waste from the body.
During the following week:
No massages, chiropractic, acupuncture, physiotherapy, dental drilling, saunas, heating pads, or ice packs.
Homeopathic medicines and flower essences are welcome.
Keep on drinking a glass of water every hour till early evening – you don’t want to be up during the night – this let your body continue detoxifying.
Don’t overwork yourself. You may feel energetic a few days after the treatment, but remember your body needs rest.

Bowen Therapy in mainstream media
In the July 04 issue of Oprah Winfrey’s “O” Magazine.
Bowen Therapy is noted in Oprah’s magazine as being an “innovative body therapy, the rolling movements prompting certain cells to send a signal to the brain that produces muscular relaxation.”
Other notable press coverage is shown below:
From Times on Line
To the outside world, the adventurer Bear Grylls epitomises supreme fitness. The man who catapults himself into alien, life-threatening environments, surviving on his wits alone, practically bursts with good health - or so it seems to the viewer watching him on television from the comfort of the sofa.
Yet despite appearances, Bear has been plagued with back pain for over ten years - for which he only recently found an effective treatment.
More worryingly, he also suffers from high levels of cholesterol, caused by a genetic disease which killed his father and grandfather - and which poses as much of a danger to him as his Boys’ Own exploits.
Adventurer Bear Grylls may throw himself into some of the most uninhabitable places on earth but the super fit action man suffers from a genetic condition which means he suffers from very high colesterol levels
Bear’s father, former Tory MP Sir Michael Grylls, died suddenly of a heart attack at 66 in 2001; his grandfather also died prematurely of heart disease.
But it was only six months ago that Bear had a cholesterol test. He was staggered to find that he had a reading of six-and-ahalf, which is very high for someone of his age and fitness.
“I had been in the SAS Territorial Army and spent my life on physical challenges. Even when at home I exercised six days a week, alternating circuit training, running and yoga,” says Bear, now 33.
Without these high levels of activity his reading could have been even worse; his older sister, Lara, had an even higher reading of eight.
Doctors recommend that cholesterol levels are under five and even lower for patients at particular risk of heart disease.
Bear appears to suffer from a hereditary predisposition to dangerously high levels of cholesterol, which clogs the arteries and can lead to heart attacks and stroke. The condition - hypercholesterolaemia - affects seven people in 1,000.
Men with the condition are at greater risk of heart attack: 80 per cent will have had their first heart attack by 60, but many will suffer one in their 40s or 50s.
Although the condition is not caused by a bad diet, it can be improved by one low in fats.
Despite the warning given by his father’s and grandfather’s heart attacks, Bear had enjoyed a diet rich in animal fats, especially meat and milk which he thought necessary to sustain his high-octane and physically strenuous existence.
But soon after his cholesterol test, he came across The Rave Diet, written by American filmmaker Mike Anderson, who had seen members of his family die of cancer and heart disease.
Based on fruit, vegetables and wholegrains with as much raw food as possible and no animal fats or vegetable oils, it is a Spartan regime, but Bear has embraced it enthusiastically.
“After I read this, the links between the heart disease which killed my father and grandfather, my high cholesterol and my fatty diet became startlingly clear. My mother fed my father butter and cream all day long.
“It breaks my heart that my father never knew my children. He should have been around for another 25 years.”
Bear has learnt that the key to his survival may lie not in his awesome ability to live off hostile landscapes, but in adhering to the sort of lifestyle advice promoted in every GP’s surgery.
“I am planning to have my cholesterol tested again soon. But I think my new diet is the answer.”
Bear, his wife Shara and two sons (aged four and one) now eat neither meat nor fish, but get their protein from nuts, seeds, pulses and quinoa (a proteinrich grain which can be used like rice or as a porridge).
They also drink oatmilk (made from oats mixed with water and other grains and beans; it is high in fibre, vitamin E, folic acid and phytochemicals, which fight cancer and heart disease).
“We’re not bonkers about it - if we go out, we eat what’s available. And when I’m on an expedition I eat what I have to in order to stay alive. I’ve eaten sheep’s eyes, the still hot meat from a zebra killed by a lion, and maggots which give you 70 calories to the ounce.”
As well as his risk of heart disease, Bear also suffers from chronic back problems.
Twelve years ago, aged 21, he broke his back when training with the SAS after his parachute failed to inflate at 16,000 feet.
“I should have cut the main parachute and gone to the reserve but thought there was time to resolve the problem.” He landed on his parachute pack, which was like an iron bar, and fractured three vertebrae.
It was extraordinary that he was alive, let alone not paralysed - but incredibly the spinal cord, which channels messages between the brain and all parts of the body, had not been severed.
Bear was treated at Headley Court, the defence forces’ rehabilitation centre in Surrey.
“The doctor said I was a miracle man. I had come so close to severing my spinal cord. Because of my age and my fitness, they decided I could avoid surgery.”
Instead, he underwent ten hours a day of physiotherapy, swimming, stretching and ultrasound treatment - a programme designed to help servicemen get back to active duty, but rarely available to civilians.
The alternative - and one offered to most people in a similar situation, but without Bear’s peak fitness - is surgery to fuse the broken vertebrae.
‘I had nightmares for months. Still, I was lucky to walk away without surgery - but ever since, I have suffered twinges and pains.”
Deep massage helped, but he says he always felt physically ‘unbalanced’ by his injury.
Then a year ago his wife suggested he see a Bowen therapist. The Bowen technique, developed in the 1950s, involves using rolling movements over muscles, ligaments and tendons.
This is said to send impulses to the brain to trigger the body’s own healing system.
Precisely how it works is a mystery, but many professional football clubs maintain a Bowen therapist as it has been shown to be very effective in realigning the skeletal structure.
“I was sceptical, but wanted to keep an open mind,” says Bear.
He went to see East Sussex based Bowen therapist Sarah Yearsley.
“With the slightest squiggle of her fingers, it felt like petrol was being put back in my tank and I could feel all the stress seeping away. More importantly, after my back accident, my spine and pelvis had lost alignment, so I felt unbalanced.”
Sarah explained that Bear’s pelvis was slightly twisted - and that this would cause endless problems and backache.
Most fans of Bear’s Born Survivor series will not have noticed anything wrong, yet a subtle misalignment - visible only to the expert eye - can impact on total health For Bear, who is often jumping out of planes, having complete structural alignment is even more important than for the average person.
Bear describes himself as now ‘hooked’ and has treatment every month.
It has helped him prepare for his most perilous challenge yet. Next month he is attempting a powered paraglide over Everest’s 29,035ft summit.
“I am scared I could black out in the click of a finger.” If this venture seems inconsistent with his desire to lead a healthy life, Bear has an announcement.
“This is the last of my big expeditions or challenges. They’re getting too dangerous. I’m not on the Ranulph Fiennes road of trying to beat the last expedition.” Sir Ranulph has been an inspiration to Bear all his life.
As a boy, Bear climbed the bell tower at Eton, where the baronet had also once been a pupil. “In the lead lining, I found the initials RF. I put BG next to his,” he recalls.
But while he is ‘full of dreams and ambitions,’ he also has a family and a long-suffering wife at home.
In fact, relaxation is vital to Bear, who says, somewhat surprisingly: “I don’t thrive on stress. I love lying on the deck on our houseboat reading a book.
“I’m terrified of walking into a room full of people. Sitting down at a dinner table with 15 strangers brings me out in a sweat.” Yet, he says, fear isn’t the reason not to do something.
“I’m scared of heights, yet I’ve just abseiled 770 feet off Canary Wharf for charity.
“But the folly of youth is that you think you’re immortal. Losing my father and having my children has brought me to my senses. I want to be around to love and guide my sons for a long time.”
SUNDAY TIMES, Style Magazine… Bowen has had good results with musculo-skeletal conditions, especially frozen shoulder and tennis elbow.
THE DAILY TELEGRAPH… One real advantage of Bowen over other ‘alternative’ therapies is that many complaints are said to be treated after just two or three sessions, making Bowen treatment easier on the wallet.
BEST MAGAZINE… My back pair went from a dull ache to no ache! It was fantastic!
THE EXPRESS… Derek Jameson was ‘absolutely flabbergasted’ when just after a few sessions of this gentle hands-on therapy his frozen shoulder problem was resolved.
NEW FOREST POST… This is such a wonderful relaxing treatment, that one can easily drift off into a peaceful sleep.
IRISH EXAMINER… It is another of those mysterious therapies but what is clear is that it works!
THE SUN… The Bowen Technique is a hands-on therapy which really works.
BOURNEMOUTH ECHO… Bowen can be applied to most problems and all ages as it is gently holistic and works by harnessing the body’s own healing powers.
HEALTH AND FITNESS MAGAZINE… Some clients return for regular sessions simply for balancing and relaxation. It can be a form of protection as well. For some sports people it can actually enhance their performance.
HELLO MAGAZINE… The Bowen Technique is called by one osteopath ‘probably the most important healthcare discovery in human history’.
I am excited to see Bowen Therapy now being talked about in the mainstream media. Tom Bowen was a genius and his dedication and commitment to helping people transformed their lives. So, get in touch today….you have nothing to lose but pain!

The Health Benefits of Colloidal Silver
Colloidal silver is nature’s own little wonder metal, with its ability to kill disease causing organisms. It is, beyond a shadow of a doubt, one of the most powerful antibiotics known to man.
Silver has long been seen as the perfect natural antibiotic. In the old days cowboys used to fill their canteens with fresh water and then toss in a silver coin to keep that water pure in the hottest weather. Silver has been used for decades in the eyes of newborns to prevent infection. The fact is, harmful bacteria cannot survive in an environment that is rich with silver particles. That is why colloidal silver is such a powerful potion in the fight against disease.
The word “colloidal” means that the silver is electrically removed from its source and attached to water molecules to form a new molecule. It is however an extremely unstable molecule and must be kept in dark glass bottles, out of direct sunlight. The new molecule falls apart when stored in a plastic container.
There have been rumors throughout the media that colloidal silver can cause a serious side effect known as Argyria. This is a condition where the skin actually turns permanently gray. Despite the occasional hype over colloidal silver, there is no substantiating evidence that it can cause that disease or any other for that matter. Truth be told, there are no known side effects to the use of colloidal silver whatsoever.
Some of the uses of colloidal silver include: Eye wash, to kill bacteria on the eyeball itself, topical astringent, to draw poisons from the skin, mouthwash, which, when left in the mouth for at least six minutes, kills the bacteria and germs that are present. Also, silver can be swallowed to provide daily antibacterial protection within the body. Silver is also efficient in the role of nose drops, ear drops, and can be put on cuts and scrapes without further damage to the skin, or causing pain.
The benefits of using colloidal silver are exceedingly impressive, which makes this product the perfect antibiotic for use on people of all ages, including infants and the elderly. Also, it can be safely given to pets to protect them from the millions of germs that bombard the world every day.
Colloidal silver can be produced in your own home using a tiny electrical device, and does not involve complicated procedures. In most cases, when purchased in a store, the same product that you can make at home yourself, can cost a small fortune and turn out to be less pure. For convenience sake however, some have found the expense is worth it in the long run, with the product paying for itself in long-term health improvements. If, however, you wish to make an order then feel free to ‘phone or e-mail me and it will be made at home - as we make it ourselves for home consumption - and sent to you. (This applies only to the U.K.)

Back pain
Written on Sunday, 29th June, 2008
O.K. It’s happened! One moment everything was all right and the next moment everything’s all wrong. Out of the blue it seems you’ve been smitten with a sore back. You may feel a variety of symptoms - a dull ache or a sharp pain, tingling or burning sensation, even weakness in the legs or feet. But please don’t panic - for years you may have been doing many things improperly without realising it — like standing without being balanced, sitting without supporting your spine, or lifting with your arms and back taking the strain instead of your legs. Then suddenly, one simple movement, like reaching for something in the shower or bending from your waist, leads to the feeling of pain and you think that the trouble was caused by that one moment of inattention. While such pain or discomfort can happen anywhere in your body the most common area affected is your lower back which supports most of your body’s weight.
ACUTE v CHRONIC BACK PAIN Your back has probably been losing strength or integrity over a lengthy period. Low back pain may be acute - lasting less than one month, or chronic - lasting longer than three months. While getting acute back pain more than once is common, continuous long-term pain is not.
HOW TO HELP YOURSELF You’ll realise yourself not to lift and carry anything big but, if it’s unavoidable, then bend your knees not your back. To help you feel stable, keep your feet wide apart and use your strong leg muscles. Carry the object against your body (so that its centre of gravity is close to yours). Also bend your knees to put the object down.
Try a rolled-up towel or jumper in the small of your back to help support the natural curve (’Lumbar support rolls’ are available from some shops)
Stand your washing up bowl on the draining board so that you don’t have to slump over the sink, straining your lower back, sit down to prepare vegetables etc.
Check the suitability of your mattress with a simple test. Lie on your back and slide your hand (palm down) into the small of your back. If there is a large gap, the mattress is probably too hard. If you have to squeeze your hand in, then it is probably too soft. If your hand slides in fairly easily, the mattress is probably just right.
If you have neck pain, try making a butterfly pillow. Tie a bandage or stocking around the centre of the pillow and place your neck in the middle.
When vacuuming, keep your upper body upright, and with the cleaner close to your body use short sweeping movements.
Only iron essential items. Make sure your ironing board is at waist height (most people have the board too low).
When making beds, kneel down to tuck in corners rather than stooping.
A common misconception is that you need to rest and avoid activity for a long time. In fact, bed rest is not recommended. You should reduce physical activity only for the first couple of days and then gradually resume your normal activities after that.
THINGS TO BE CONCERNED ABOUT - loss of bowel or bladder control, weakness, weight loss or fever - telephone your doctor immediately.
HOW TO HANDLE PAIN
Stop normal physical activity for the first few days. This helps calm your symptoms and reduce inflammation.
Apply heat or ice to the painful area. Try ice for the first 48-72 hours, then use heat after that.
Take over-the-counter pain relievers such as ibuprofen.
While sleeping, try lying in a curled-up, foetal position with a pillow between your legs. If you usually sleep on your back, place a pillow or rolled towel under your knees to relieve pressure. After 2-3 weeks, you should gradually resume exercise but NO heavy lifting or twisting for the first 6 weeks. Help yourself by doing light exercise - walking, riding a stationary bicycle, and swimming are good for starters. This strengthen muscles in your stomach and back.
AVOID jogging, football, golf, weightlifting or any other exercise which could put off your healing.
……………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………..
Below are a few examples of Bowen on people who had back pain. Please note that each example is only a summary.
Sports Instructor called me in extreme distress with pain in her right shoulder. A fortnight previously had noticed a sharp pain at her back when she was driving her car but then the pain disappeared. The other day she was moving a heavy piece of equipment and suddenly her neck and right shoulder became very painful. When I saw her she was shaking with the pain and her face was ashen. Did a few basic moves on her and told her to rest and continue with the painkillers. Came the following week and her colour was back to normal though she still had a little pain at her neck and was still taking anti-inflammatories. Came the third week and she was 95% better and has a sense of well being and wanted literature about the Bowen Technique to give to her clients.
…………………………………………………………………………………………………
Horsewoman who had already fallen off her horse and suffered a compressed fracture of the 5th vertebrae came to see me because she tripped on the pavement and now was suffering with pain in her right lumbar/thoracic region, pain in her feet, and a shooting pain between her shoulder blades. While doing the first four moves she was aware of gentle heat at her shoulder blades radiating down to her coccyx. This sensation stayed with her for twenty minutes and I decided to call it a day and see her the next week after her body had processed the work. Came to see me the next week and told me the pain had greatly diminished in her back but her feet were still a little painful. I dealt with the foot issue and told her I thought she should come back one more time. She ‘phoned me during the week to say that the pain in her feet had disappeared and she wouldn’t need to come back. Speaking to her months later she has had no re-occurrence of the problem.
………………………………………………………………………………………………
Woman in her early 80’s phoned me to ask if I could help her. She had to get morphine from her doctor because the pain in her back adjacent to her fourth lumbar vertebrae was so bad. She had an x-ray six weeks prior to her ‘phoning me but nothing sinister had shown up and she was now waiting on a scan. She had managed to the physiotherapist a few weeks earlier but when she told him she had been diagnosed with osteoarthritis he said he couldn’t be of any help to her. As the pain was so bad she only left her bed to go to the toilet, so I used the Bowen methods applicable to someone who has minimal movement, (either in a wheelchair or bed). After the first two moves she happened to cough and then said that normally when she coughs the pain gets worse as her back would go into a spasm, but there was no pain after the moves. She also felt heat and tingling in her lower back and when I had finished she managed to get up out of bed with the aid of two sticks and take a few steps. Saw her three times in all and she felt the pain had been somewhat relieved and her muscle tone was slowly getting better, and she had asked her doctor to reduce the morphine.
The lady is now walking without the aid of sticks and is enjoying life again.
………………………………………………………………………………………………..
Joiner ‘phoned me for a back problem. When I saw him he told me he had fallen out of a first storey window ten years previously and, although that healed up, he has had pain in his back about once a month from that fall with the accompanying lack of sleep and lack of concentration. Five years ago he gave up playing amateur football. Checked his pelvic alignment which wasn’t good and his leg abduction – very little lateral movement of his legs. Balanced his body with Bowen moves and once he stood up he said that he had very little pain. Was going on holiday the following week, so the one time I saw him must have done the trick because I didn’t see him again!
………………………………………………………………………………………………..
Young lady came to see me for a back problem. She had a gall bladder operation the year before and she also suffered from I.B.S. but not so much now. Four years ago the car she was driving aquaplaned off the road and she broke all her ribs and her right shoulder. Last year she developed sciatica and a slipped disc and was off work for 51/2 months. She had a lot of physio and went back to work in March. This particular incident started when she put her feet over the bed to get up and developed a tremendous pain at her lower back. Did the basic Bowen with plenty of rest in between the moves to give her body time to assimilate. She felt a shivering sensation down her spine from her right arm and also felt pain which soon disappeared. Also aware of gentle heat in her lumbar region. Before she left she said she was still stiff but the pain had decreased and she told me later she was able to go back part time to work. I saw this lady once a month for four months after which time the quality of her life improved greatly as the pain became negligable. She re-injured thirteen months later but only needed to see her twice before she was right again.

I live in Uddingston, in Scotland, on the outskirts of Glasgow and just five minutes by car from the old Glasgow Zoo, and I am very happy to welcome old and new visitors.
One of the main things to accomplish doing Bowen is to restore balance to the body. If the pelvis is tilted one way or the other it will throw off the rest of the body. It will make the leg length uneven placing pressure on the ankles, knees and hips. It will also place the lumbar spine and surrounding muscles in tension and make the muscles of the neck and shoulders tight in the body’s effort to balance itself.
I believe in Bowen as it is taught as I have seen so many amazing results. The Bowen standards are kept high by an ongoing structured training programme and learning new moves and refining old ones is essential.

I live in Uddingston, in Scotland, on the outskirts of Glasgow and just five minutes by car from the old Glasgow Zoo, and am very happy to welcome old and new visitors to my home.
One of the main things that is accomplished during Bowen is restoration of balance to the body. If the pelvis is tilted one way or the other it will throw off the rest of the body; it will make the leg length uneven placing pressure on the ankles, knees and hips.
